In August 2026 Gallery Artrie Heyri in Paju gave its second-floor special exhibition hall to GREEN SCALE, a solo exhibition of analog optical holograms recorded entirely in green. It ran from August 4 to 31, at the same time as the New York exhibition.
The room was kept dark and lit in deep green. A bouquet of roses in a vase, a still life with a whisky bottle, and a self-portrait in which a hand covers the face appear to stand in front of and behind the glass. As visitors move, a profile turns into a frontal view and objects show their sides and tops.
The kinetic work illusion in motion (180 × 80 × 60 cm) was also shown.

But this is not a mere trick. The image in the work is the place where light actually stayed, the footprint that light left behind. Follow that trace and you reach a moment where present and past, reality and illusion, can no longer be told apart.
Jungwuk Kim, artist’s note, 2026 (translated from Korean)
In the gallery’s words, for the artist “the hologram is not simply a technique to reproduce subjects realistically, but a tool that causes us to re-examine the very belief of ‘what it means to exist.’”
