ILLUSION IN MOTION opened on June 27, 2026 at Holographic Studios on East 2nd Street in New York and ran until August 27. It brought his kinetic holograms to New York for the first time. Holographic Studios has worked with holography since 1979 as a gallery, laboratory and school, and the show was curated by Sy Rivers.
Twelve works were on view, including pieces from the Still Life Series (2023 – 2025), the new Greenscale Flower & Objects, and kinetic holograms that bring physical movement into the recorded image. The subtitle set out the question behind the show: From Perceivable Reality to the Realm of Illusion.

From the Still Life Series: everyday objects arranged on a table, recorded with laser light and shown in carved frames.
A hologram is not just a visual trick. It is a medium that asks questions about existence and perception.
Jungwuk Kim, in Money Today, July 2026 (translated from Korean)
On August 27 the artist closed the exhibition with a talk on how the works are made. The gallery described his practice as joining “optical art, kinetic sculpture and laser holography in a truly beautiful and otherworldly way.”
